November News 2010
Welcome to Band News for November. What a raving success!!
October saw the band’s 30th Anniversary Concert and the Methodist Church on Midsomer Norton High Street was packed. Adrian did a fabulous job holding it all together and (apart from the band of course) the star of the show was Steve Sykes. What that bloke can’t do with a tuba isn’t worth doing – and he’s a bit of a comedian as well.
There are so many people to thank that I can’t list them here for fear of being dull (oops! too late, get on with it). But sufficient to say, thank you to everyone that played a part in making the evening a success - especially to our supporters who came along, bought tickets and made it such an enjoyable and special occasion for the band.
In the calm after the storm we get back to “the day job” and out come the carol books. Christmas starts early with the opening of the Christmas Market in Bath on the 25th then carols outside Blacks (or “Fishy Evans” in old money) on Saturday with the Advent Service at Bradford Abbas near Yeovil on Sunday 28th.
With Christmas fast approaching now is the time to get hold of your copy of On the Bandstand the band's CD. As stocking fillers go it's bound to raise a smile - and I already know someone who's getting one and I can't wait to see their face - ho! ho! ho!.
